The story of Delos began some years ago, when Shawn and Rush met while living in Austin, TX, and when you’re both from Texas your roots are strong. It was quickly understood that they shared the same passions; photography, graphic design and appreciation of all things artful. Shawn had already started his professional career as a graphic designer and Rush was studying design; they used their free time to explore their passions further and began to experiment with photography and design, using themselves as subjects, going on photo adventures as well as working with small start-ups.
These experiments were the early signs of what was to come; paving the way for their fantasy of leading their own creative agency would become reality.
It was in 2018, Shawn began leading the design efforts as Creative Director of an e-commerce wine company. Shortly after, Rush joined the creative team, and their combined talent took their art to the next level. In addition to having free-reign to create outstanding marketing campaigns, they pushed the wine company’s presence by publishing a print and digital lifestyle magazine. This supplied a platform for which they were in charge of all artistic aspects and one that helped them transcend the marketing realm into the publishing industry.
The duo then struck out on their own, launching Delos in Los Angeles, CA. The name comes from an island in Greece that is one of the most important mythological, historical, and archaeological sites. As you stand in the center of this UNESCO World Heritage site you feel awe and respect for the rich history that came before. Likewise, we want everything we create for our clients to inspire. Our life and creative work are all in pursuit of wonder.
